December 1, 2023

PA Humanities is excited to announce the addition of Bryan Clark (Langhorne) and Jessica Herzing (Cameron County) as the two newest members of its Board of Directors. Each began their term on November 1 and are eligible to serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.

In addition, a new executive committee was elected: Gwendolyn White, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Erie Insurance Group, Chair; Christina D. Saler, Esq., partner at the law firm Cohen Milstein, Vice-Chair; and Kimberly Koller-Jones, Executive Director of the Hoyt Center for the Arts, Treasurer.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to continue my service to the board as chair of this impactful organization doing so much good across the state,” said White. “These newest members bring so many wonderful assets to our team. I look forward to collaborating with our board and staff at PA Humanities as we advance our mission creating positive change in our lives and communities generationally, inspiring people to connect and shape our future and an equitable society.”

PA Humanities’ mission is to champion the humanities as a means to build community, educate, inspire, and make long-lasting change. It is governed by a 24-seat board of directors, which is made up of both elected individuals and governor appointees. Members have backgrounds in business, law, education, philanthropy, government, arts, and culture.

Both new board members are seasoned professionals with past experience with PA Humanities’ work and mission. Bryan Clark, controller for Goldblum, Pollins & Dennis, PC, an immigration law firm in Jenkintown, managed operations for PA Humanities from 2014-2018. Jessica Herzing, a managerial accountant, served as project coordinator of the Cameron County Project, part of PA Heart & Soul, from 2018 to 2022.

“These two new members come to us with deep familiarity of PA Humanities work and personal passion for our programs, research, and advocacy,” said Laurie Zierer, executive director of PA Humanities. “Their extensive experiences, skills, and networks will help us continue to build momentum around our 50th anniversary celebrations.”
