As ERIE’s Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Gwendolyn White leads with an equity
lens and an emphasis on fostering a sense of belonging.

A longtime advocate for diversity and inclusion at Erie Insurance and in the community, she has
been with the company for nearly 40 years. Before taking her present role, she was an underwriting
manager and for two years was a full-time CEO Action for Racial Equity Fellowship Program fellow.
In the fellowship program, she worked alongside nearly 250 professionals from 100 companies

and local levels.

Gwen is a DEI Ambassador and certified DEI facilitator for ERIE and has worked to foster DEI
conversations throughout the organization. In April, she served as a panelist at the 2023
International Corporate Citizenship Conference hosted by the Boston College Center for Corporate
Citizenship. She spoke at a session exploring how ERIE and other organizations embed corporate
social responsibility and DEI into their policies and decision making.

To make a difference in the communities where we work, live and play, Gwen serves as a leader for
several state and local organizations. She recently was reappointed by Gov. Josh Shapiro to PA
Humanities, formerly the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, which she serves as chair. Gwen is also
chairperson of the Erie County Convention Center Authority and past board chair of United Way of
Erie County, among other leadership roles.

Gwen’s numerous honors for her longstanding and diverse commitments include the Louis J. Tullio
Service Award and United Way’s Tocqueville Award for personal leadership and commitment to
service. Erie Arts and Culture recognized her in 2021 for her history of championing the arts and
humanities across the state.
