Who we're looking for
We are seeking energized volunteers who want to share their experience, perspective, and networks in support of our statewide mission. We encourage you to explore our Let’s flip book, watch our video, and read our stories to learn more about our work. You can also review our Board FAQs for more information on serving.
In 2026, we are especially interested in learning about candidates with experience in fundraising, philanthropy, investment, financial oversight, rural communities, libraries, Out of School Time (OST), youth education, and other areas that may strengthen the board’s work.
Eligibility
Board membership is limited to individuals who, at the time of their election or appointment, are either residents of Pennsylvania or employed full-time in Pennsylvania.
Selection Process
After you complete the simple online Public Interest Form, it will be reviewed by the Governance Committee. If a candidate is a good fit, the Governance Committee may invite them for an interview, request additional follow-up, or consider another pathway for involvement.
Upon recommendation by the Governance Committee, the candidate’s name will be placed on the slate for election by the Board at the next Board Meeting.
