Aiman is a law student at the University of Pennsylvania and a visiting board fellow through the Wharton Nonprofit Board Fellowship. Prior to starting her legal education, she was a strategy consultant in New York City, primary focusing on social innovation and corporate citizenship. This summer, Aiman will be in Mexico City, working at a migrant justice non-profit. Aiman is interested in international law and human rights, particularly gender violence. She hopes to pursue a career in cross-border arbitration or litigation and eventually work in international human rights work, focusing on asylum, refugee, and immigrant women who are victims of gender violence. Aiman is dedicated to community engagement and joined PA Humanities to give back to the Philadelphia community through the power of humanities, arts, and culture. In her free time, you can find her swimming, working her way through Philadelphia’s cafes, trying out different recipes for dinner parties, and reading Jhumpa Lahiri books.
Aiman Shahab joined PA Humanities’ board as part of the McNulty Leadership Nonprofit Board Fellows Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This initiative develops future civic leaders by pairing talented MBA and law students with local nonprofit boards to gain hands-on governance experience as non-voting volunteers.
