Let's Rise: 50th Anniversary Video Project

Welcome to Let’s Rise, PA Humanities’ statewide video project, created in partnership with Emmy-winning journalist and filmmaker Kelly Dessoye in celebration of our 50th anniversary. Filmed in 2024, these videos offer powerful examples of how everyday people across Pennsylvania are using the tools of the humanities to strengthen their lives and communities. The full series included 14 short videos, plus highlight reels and social media clips. As of January 2026, they collectively received 100,000+ views and 2,000+ hours of watchtime. The videos were released in themed batches over a five-month period, beginning in September 2025.

We invite you to explore these inspiring stories of strength, hope, and resilience. They are proof that, despite the ongoing challenges, the humanities in Pennsylvania are thriving and making a tremendous impact in the lives of everyday people.

Your support made it possible for us to share these important stories. Consider a gift to help ensure we can keep doing the work of illuminating our shared humanity to build stronger communities and thriving lives together.
