Nick Crosson

Development & Research Manager

Nick Crosson works at the intersection of fundraising and data analysis to help improve the bottom line and increase participation.

For over fifteen years, Nick has worked with local and national nonprofit organizations in research and fundraising.  He specializes in organizational benchmarking and donor analysis. Most recently, he managed the Philadelphia Ballet’s Annual Fund (formerly the Pennsylvania Ballet), increasing giving to the fund by more than 33% from 2018 through 2020, conducting matching campaigns, and implementing a broad-based Covid Emergency Relief Fund campaign.

In prior roles at DataArts (formerly the Cultural Data Project) and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Nick increased institutional giving and led organizational research programs. At DataArts, he helped build and fund the organization’s workforce demographic survey systems and conduct studies of the cultural sectors in Los Angeles, Houston, and New York City, as well as a national study of philanthropies – Diversity Among Fundraising Professionals. At the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Nick led the organization’s research program, including the development of the Portfolio report series –  “The most ambitious and impressive attempt to uncover hard data” on the region’s cultural industry. Nick is a graduate of Haverford College and holds graduate degrees in Philosophy from Boston College and Georgetown University. He is a Board member of Emerging Arts Leaders: Philadelphia and serves on the Philadelphia Cultural Data Working Group. At one stage in his life, he was a (somewhat) competent soccer and ice hockey goalkeeper, now he mainly tries to exercise without hurting himself.
